Tippmann A-5

tippmann_a5.jpg The Tippmann A-5 paintball gun is, in my opinion, the leader in scenario paintball guns. One reason the A-5 is so popular is because it can be customized to look like realistic military guns used in scenario paintball.

Tippmann released the A-5 in 2002. The A5 continues Tippmann’s history of reliability and high-performance paintball guns.

The Tippmann A-5 offers a collection of enhancements that make the traditional Tippmann design more efficient.

The A-5 Barrel Shape Spins Paintballs to Improve Distance

The Tippmann A-5 uses a flatline barrel, which was innovative for a mainstream paintball gun model in 2003. The A-5 barrel is a curved paintball barrel. The curve is in the shape of a slight “S” shape that creates a backspin on paintballs to increase the gun’s range by about 100 feet over a standard paintball gun barrel.Cyclone Feed System on the Tippmann A-5

The A-5’s most notable strengths are its durability and reliability. The gun integrates technologies that provide efficient and consistent shots at all times.

For example, the cyclone feed system creates a link between the feeder sprocket and air system to increase the speed of your shots according to the speed you can shoot. This means if a skilled paintball player could pull the trigger 12 times in a second, the A-5 gun could shoot 12 times per second.

Cleaning the Tippmann A-5 is Easy

The A-5 features a tool-free field stripping feature, allowing it to come apart quickly and easily for cleaning, which can be done partially on the field if necessary. Because of this, the Tippmann A-5 is one of the easiest paintball guns to clean.

Tippmann A-5 Includes Many UpgradesPaintballers might want to consider upgrades to the Tippmann A-5.

Some paintball players recommend a barrel upgrade to the standard model. However, Tippmann owners are often happy with the A-5′s stock parts, which still produce above-average results on the paintball field.

Upgrades also include a better grip, since the gun is relatively heavy, or the larger, 20 oz. air tank.

Another option is modifications to the A-5 so it looks like a particular military or scenario paintball gun. Modified Tippmann A-5 paintball guns can be purchased pre-made. You can also purchase the A-5 mod kits alone, which is great if you already own a Tippmann A-5. For example, check out these military paintball guns.
