Wouldn’t it be cool if you could play Resident Evil and Paintball combined? Now you can.

Resident Evil is one of the wildest video games available. You walk through buildings, forests, and various other environments where nightmarish creatures are waiting to leap on you.

I’ve always wanted to merge some of the cool elements of video games with paintball to create the ultimate real life thriller. Video games are awesome because of the unlimited creativity allowing you as a player to enter bizarre worlds, fight unreal monsters, and use awesome weapons. Paintball rocks because you are not staring at a TV, but instead you are using all your muscles, wits, and cunning tactics to out-maneuver and out-shoot your opponent. To combine paintball and video games would be awesome.

That is why I was so excited to see this Resident Evil scenario paintball game which occurred in October of 2007 , at the Three Rivers Paintball Field in Freedom, Pennsylvania.

Obviously, there is no way to recreate the awesome surreal world of Resident Evil for a scenario paintball game. So in that regard, this game is somewhat of a disappointment. But on a more realistic level, I think this was a great idea, and I would have loved to have been there.

Who knows, maybe next time the Resident Evil scenario will go a step further into the nightmare world of evil that has caused us to shiver when playing the video game. Then again, maybe we don’t want to go that far. Too scary. :)
