You haven’t played paintball in a couple years, and now that you are getting back into the sport, you want to know if you should buy a new paintball gun.
Are today’s paintball guns much different from paintball guns to be or five years ago? In short: yes.
In the past few years, paintball guns and the technology inside them have changed dramatically. Today’s paintball guns shoot faster, more reliable, are lighter, and had a number of useful features.
But before you go out and buy the latest Spyder or Tippmann, you should figure out exactly what paintball gun you need. Today, there are so many paintball guns on the market that it makes choosing a paintball gun difficult.
One of the best ways to identify what paintball gun will be best for you is to try out some paintball guns. You need to hold in your hands, feel it, and preferably even run with it, before knowing whether a gone it’s going to be a good fit for you.
I suggest renting some guns your first couple times on the paintball fields. Or you can borrow the gun of a friend.
The point is, don’t just buy a gun based on some online description or picture in a catalog, unless you are already somewhat familiar with paintball guns that have been made in the last couple years.
