Paintball Game Types

There are various ways to play paintball. The most popular paintball types are these:

  • Speedball / Xball / Tournament
  • Woodsball
  • Scenario
  • Stock Class

Speedball, which is popularly called Xball, is a fast-paced game played on a small field with inflatable bunkers. Speedball is the most common paintball game type act paintball tournaments. Speedball can also be played indoors.

Woodsball is the name for paintball that is played in the woods. One popular with woodsball game is capture the flag. Another is elimination, which is nearly paintball teams duking it out until all players are eliminated.

Scenario paintball includes paintball games that are based on various scenarios. Scenarios include Rambo, where everyone tries to find and kill one player who has an automatic weapon and requires more kits to be killed, protect the president, where one team is protecting one of its players and the other team is made up of assassins trying to kill the protected player, and many more. Some scenarios are based on real life battles from his store wars such as the battle at Normandy.

Stock class paintball is paintball played with a single-fire pump-action paintball gun, you can usually only hold 20 peoples at a time. Pump guns are powered by Co2 cartridges. Stock class paintball is often played by paintball players from the 1980s because pump guns were primarily the only paintball guns use in the 1980s. Stock class paintball is typically capture the flag or elimination.
