Military Paintball Guns

Some scenario paintball players crave military-styled paintball guns. These are markers used for scenario paintball games, tactical missions, and sniping.

I’ve noticed that many military paintball guns are made by a company called Real Action Paintball, so I researched Real Action Paintball today, and in particular, its popular RAP4 paintball marker.

Without realizing it, I had discussed Real Action Paintball products on Paintball Guns before (Heavy Duty Paintball Gun and Tippmann HK MP5).

Real Action Paintball has some great paintball gun models, especially for scenario paintball players.

RAP4RAP4 Marker

Real Action Paintball’s signature marker is the RAP4, which is identical to the legendary M4 rifle used by SWAT Teams and the U.S. Military.

The RAP4 uses .40 or .43 caliber paintballs encased in metal or plastic shells. The RAP4 automatically ejects the shells similar to a real M4 rifle.

The RAP4 can be fired 50 times without using more than 0.4 oz of CO2, which means it not only looks real, but you can shoot without having to reload CO2 all the time, which would reduce the realistic experience.

Here are a few of the RAP4′s features:

  • Adjustable for semi or fully automatic fire
  • Shell casing ejected after each shot
  • Clip-fed 20 round magazine.
  • Low, consistent pressure operation
  • Flash-hider type muzzle break
  • Low gas consumption
  • Can be fully submerged in water without harm.
  • Velocity 250 to 450 fps (adjustable)
  • Simple to operate & easy to maintain

Needless to say, I am impressed by the RAP4 marker.

Other Military Scenario Paintball Guns

Real Action Paintball creates some other incredible scenario paintball guns. For example, check out the M4 Tactical Storm, the RAP47 which looks dangerously similar to the AK-47 military gun, the RAP5 which appears to be a near replica of the H&K MP5 submachine gun, and the T68 Commando 2 which can be customized with a mod kit or purchased directly to look like many different guns including the death-inspiring T68 CQB.

Of all the military scenario paintball guns sold by Real Action Paintball, my favorite would have to be the The Perfect Storm, a modification of the RAP4. It’s a soldier’s dream, and perfect for sniping enemies at long distances.

Criticisms of Real Action Paintball’s Markers

If I had any criticisms of Real Action Paintball’s markers, the concern would relate to the size, weight, and price of paintball gun sold by Real Action Paintball.

These paintball guns cost more, weigh more, and are larger than many simple paintball guns that don’t have a military appearance. The reason, of course, is that Real Action Paintball adds to the basic paintball gun design to provide a realistic gun experience.
If you want a typical paintball gun, you can by one anywhere. Buy scenario paintball players who want military-style paintball guns are looking for a paintball gun that appears and feels realistic.

If you are in a battle, you want to feel a part of it. The weight, size, appearance, and general feel of your paintball gun is an important part of experiencing a realistic military scenario.

So while the realistic weight, size, and price may be a problem for some, these characteristics are exactly what some paintball players want.

Conclusion

I am generally impressed with Real Action Paintball. While you will pay for a realistic military appearance and feel, these paintball guns cater to a specific audience. In particular, scenario paintball players will love these military-styled paintball guns.

I’m embarrassed to say. :) I don’t have a new one. This is partly why I’ve been interested in studying the various new paintball gun models.

I just have some old ones around. I think I’ll wait until spring to buy a new one since I won’t be able to play this winter (too cold up north where I live).

Foem home: I’ve found a great way to test your paintball gun: pull the trigger and see what comes out. :) But seriously, I’m not really sure what you mean.
